Science all around us :)

We keep finding these little friends around school (and I am sure at home too). Mrs. Burmeister caught one and we learned that these are Box Elder Bugs - AND that they are completely harmless!

R is for Ryker's Rainbow

Ryker was VERY excited about the letter /r/ this week - and his RAINBOW shows it :) Sorry I could not flip the picture BEFORE posting his picture...

Say Cheese!

Why do we love preschool? Because at any given moment, we are surprised by the ideas that these munchkins come up with! Joey came up and took our picture with his homemade camera (made out of thistle blocks). Such fun!

Our new friend, Landon!

Rectangular Robots

What a fun project this was! We gave the students many different sizes of rectangles. With those rectangles, they had to create a robot whatever way they could. We had some very creative kiddos!

Meet our new morning friend - Landon!

Landon and his mom, Dawn, joined us on our field trip on Monday. They have just moved here from Florida and are excited to meet more Immanuel families!

Preview of field trip pics - more to come!

Buddies :)

Afternoon buddies Seth and Danny!

/C/, /K/ week in preschool

After just one session of preschool, we have quite the pile of corn kernel kites, cotton ball C's and cotton clouds! Always very productive!

Happy Birthday Madelyn :)

Silly Mrs. Kraus

Mrs. Kraus at her best! Singing and dancing the day away :) LOVE < LOVE < LOVE IT!

Happy Birthday Shane!!!!

Random Silly Sports Day pictures - so cute!

Calendar Math

Do you like our new calendar? This program is a Smartboard calendar so we can make the dates different colors and we can add birthdays/special events each month. Calendars help us learn how to count, recognize numbers, add, subtract and other VERY important math skills!

Bible Buddy Crafts

Today with our Bible Buddies, we made Tower of Babel towers! We started from the bottom up and had to sequence the tower by size!

Fire Safety Week

During fire safety week, we had a surprise visit from Mr. Burmeister, an Elmhurst firefighter. Can you see what he brought with him? SUPER COOL!

Bouncy Eggs Experiment

To go with the letter E, we did an egg experiment! We took 4 eggs and put them in stinky vinegar for 2 whole days. When we took the eggs out of the vinegar, their shell was completely soft and the eggs were even "bouncy"!

Handwriting Practice on the Smartboard :)

Words we use to write the lowercase letter E - "out, up and around"

Meet Mrs. Zigament!

Now that our morning class has 22 students, we have asked Mrs. Zigament to spend each MWF morning with us to assist in teaching the morning class. Please say hello to her when you see her! Mrs. Zigament has two children in our school - Isabella (2nd) and Benjamin (5th). Welcome!

Differentiation

Our school is proud to say we differentiate learning - all the way down to preschool! This means that every learning child learns differently and that our teachers explore many different ways to educate a class (not just one way). In this picture, Mrs. Kraus pulled out some shaving cream to work on recognizing and writing letters with our friend Kayla.

Random Class Pics -

Just some random shots of our friends playing at tables and throughout the classroom.

Happy Birthday Elena!!!!

SnAcKtImE!

Medeea just joined our morning class on Monday, October 1st. We welcome her and her family to our fun group of kiddos!

Olympic Soccer :)

Olympic soccer games began this week and will continue through next week, when our Olympics will officially end :( We have had a lot of fun with our many events!
